I have written a few posts for this blog so far, but have realized that I never took the time to properly introduce myself before immediately diving in with my content! So I thought I’d take a moment to tell you a little bit about myself!
So to start- I go by AutumnSkies on my blog, Facebook, and Instagram. Why AutumnSkies? Well, not only was I born in the fall, it also happens to be my favorite time of year. Where I live, it is the time of year when the bright and vibrant green leaves turn into bold and beautiful golden, orange, and red ones. It feels like the trees everywhere erupt into a beautiful, fire-themed horizon. Temperatures drop to comfortable 50’s and 60’s, my hoodies come out of hiding, and I get great joy from taking deep breaths of the crisp, fall air. We do get some rain with our leaves, but I’m usually okay with that.
I posted my first blog post to my person site back in November of 2016, about my depression journey. I started my blog because I had a million stories and circumstances circling around my mind, and needed to find a way to release them, thus AutumnSkies was created.
I am 30 years old, live in the U.S. (though that is as specific as I will be, ha ha). I have two sisters and a brother, I have an amazing mother who has stood by me through anything and everything. My father was my rock, and as I have mentioned in posts on here, I lost him back in August of 2018. I live very happily by myself, and have a great community of loving and supportive friends to keep me grounded.
Throughout the years I’ve gained a few diagnoses: depression, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, PMDD (pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder), C-PTSD (complex post-traumatic stress disorder, & HSP (highly sensitive person- which is a personality trait, not a diagnosis, but I lump it in with them). I do address most if not all of these on my blog, as well as touching on them on this blog!
I decided to take a leap of faith when I contacted J.E.S. to become a part of The Bipolar Writer Blog family. I wasn’t sure that what I had to say would be interesting for a more public platform, but was met with such overwhelmingly positive responses! I was anxiety-ridden when I sent the initial email, and my hands were positively shaking as I hit the “Submit” button the first time, but I conquered quite the fear on those days. I wanted to get my blog out there, hoping that people would see what I wrote and joined in reading my blog; as this is how I found a few of my favorite bloggers (and I am always looking to make more connections).
So, hi. Nice to meet you! I hope you enjoy my future content!
